Which God Is Hiring? A Personality Quiz Hidden Inside Your Domain Choice

Let's be honest: when you picked your divine domain, you told the whole table exactly who you are. Nobody says it out loud, but everybody knows. The Life cleric didn't choose healing because of optimal action economy math — okay, partly — but mostly because they're the friend who brings a first-aid kit to a house party.

So grab a snack, answer four questions, and find out which god would actually hire you.

The Four-Question Divine Interview

Answer fast, no overthinking. That's your first tell, Knowledge clerics.

1. The party is down to two hit points and the boss is at full health. You...

2. Your favorite session moment is when...

3. Your character sheet has...

4. Someone at the table is having a rough night. You...

Score mostly A's, B's, C's, or D's? Your divine hiring manager has been identified.

Mostly A's: The War Domain — You're the Party's OSHA Violation

War clerics are the friends who say "I'll play support this time" and then take the Great Weapon Master feat anyway. You gravitate toward frontline drama, you narrate your own kill shots, and your idea of diplomacy is initiative order.

Table presence: Loud, protective, occasionally terrifying. You are the reason the DM plans around your spiritual weapon.

Build pick: Warforged or dwarf War cleric with heavy armor, Great Weapon Master, and Divine Favor. Skip the healing prep — that's someone else's problem now. Your god isn't hiring a medic; they're hiring a forklift.

Roleplay seed: Your deity grants visions of battles won by discipline, not rage. You're a soldier, not a berserker — which makes it funnier when you charge anyway.

Mostly B's: The Knowledge Domain — The Party's Search Engine

You know the villain's grandfather's name. You quoted a book the DM improvised two sessions ago, and they had to nod and pretend it was canon. Knowledge clerics don't win fights; they win the session.

Table presence: The lore-check machine. The person the DM privately loves and publicly fears.

Build pick: High elf Knowledge cleric maxing Intelligence alongside Wisdom. Take the Sage background and the Skilled feat — you want more proficiencies, because knowing things is the whole brand. Bend Luck? No. Borrowed Knowledge? Yes.

Roleplay seed: Your god values questions over answers. Play someone who believes every locked door is a personal insult.

Mostly C's: The Trickery Domain — Chaos, But Make It Benevolent

Trickery clerics insist they're "the funny one" while casually dismantling the campaign's power structure. You've forged at least one document. You've talked your way past a boss. The DM's carefully balanced encounter ended because you convinced the cult leader the prophecy was about someone else.

Table presence: Unpredictable, hilarious, secretly the most effective party member.

Build pick: Tiefling or half-elf Trickery cleric with Charisma as a real stat, Actor feat, and the Charlatan background. Your Invoke Duplicity isn't a combat tool — it's a theater budget.

Roleplay seed: Your god doesn't want thieves; they want storytellers. Every con you run becomes a legend told in taverns. Make it a good one.

Mostly D's: The Life Domain — The Emotional Support Column

Life clerics are the heart of the table, full stop. You remember the NPC names. You adopt the stray animals. When the campaign gets dark, you're the reason the party keeps going — in and out of character.

Table presence: The glue. The person who says "okay, but is everyone having fun?"

Build pick: Hill dwarf Life cleric with Heavy Armor Master and Disciple of Life. Lean into Discipline-based healing — Cure Wounds as a bonus action means you heal and swing. Your god hired a shepherd, and shepherds have horns too when it counts.

Roleplay seed: Your deity's tenet isn't "never fight" — it's "no one dies on your watch." Hold yourself to it. It'll hurt eventually. That's the good stuff.

The Real Answer: Your God Chose You Back

Here's the twist we keep coming back to at Divine Roles: the domain isn't a job application. It's a mirror. The pantheon doesn't hire — it recognizes. You picked War because something in you already holds the line. You picked Trickery because some part of you knows the rules are negotiable.

So take the quiz, laugh at your result, and then lean into it. Your table presence isn't a bug. It's a calling.

Drop your result in the comments — and tell us if the quiz nailed you or if your War cleric friend is currently typing an angry rebuttal.
